What master did you do? And where?
I have followed the master New Media Design at Tilburg University.
Were there any admission requirements?
There were no specific prerequisites to start the master. If you followed a study at a University for Applied Sciences (HBO), then you had to finish a premaster of a half year first.
Why did you choose this master?
I have chosen this master, because of its innovative character. It is a combination of psychology, design, and communication, which I find really interesting.
What courses did you do?
Human Media Interaction Theory, Interactive Storytelling, RS: Rapid Prototyping, Visual Communication, User Experience Design, RS: Usability and User Experience Evaluation, Creativity and Innovation, Data Driven Design.
Did you live in a dorm?
Yes, I have a room in Tilburg.
How did you like it?
I really liked the master. It is a combination of theory and practice. Some courses are focused on theoretical information, while other courses ask you to develop a prototype for a new application. I really liked this variety.
Was is hard to switch?
I first followed the premaster’s programme. The difference between premaster and master was quite big. You have to work very independently and the pace is high. However, after a few weeks, you will be used to this.
Did you know someone else who did this master?
No, the master’s was quite new when I started, so I did not hear any experiences of others. The group of students in this master’s is relatively small, so it’s easy to meet new people.
