Can you shortly introduce yourself?
My name is Anne, I am a second year Communication and Information Sciences student and I mainly follow courses from the BDM track. I have also been active at Flow in the Introduction Committee, as a commissioner of the Informal Activity Committee and I will fulfil the function of External Affairs on the board next year! In addition, I recently started playing soccer at student football club Merlijn.

Can you tell something about the side job you do?
I work as a Junior Content Manager at Kwalitiv. This is an online marketing agency in Tilburg that specializes in SEO. I started here in September 2018 and since then I have been responsible for creating content for our clients. I do this mainly by writing blogs. I also got the opportunity to develop my own blog and write for it during my working hours!

How did you end up here? Did you need any experience?
I ended up here by coincidence. A girl I know and follow on Instagram put the vacancy in her Instagram story, so I contacted her, asked for information and applied! I was looking for more practical experience in addition to my studies and I really like to write, so I thought this was the ideal side job. In terms of prior knowledge, it was just very important that you could write in correct Dutch and that you were creative enough to write nice, catchy texts.

How many hours a week are you busy approximately?
It can vary per week how much you work, because the team is very flexible and cooperative. This way I can easily choose to work less or not at all in exam weeks and more in other weeks. In general, I work about 8 hours a week at Kwalitiv. This job doesn’t delay my studies, because the manager also thinks that studying always comes first. So it’s great!

Why do you think that this side job is of added value when you enter the job market?
This job will be an added value, because later in my work I also want to work on writing marketing campaigns and I now already have a lot of experience with writing advertising texts. In addition, I learn several skills here, such as building sites via WordPress, which will only come in handy later on.
