This month, the InFlow Committee interviewed the Commissioner of the Introduction Committee: Lucas Kruk. This committee has currently 4 members. In addition to Lucas, they have Clara Suchenwirth (Board Buddy), Cira Jager, and Kristiyan Ivanov. Below you can find Lucas his responses when asked questions about his committee.

1. How would you describe your committee in three words and why?

Driven, creative, and independent. I feel that our committee always has strong ideas on how to approach certain activities. Some activities have a mostly fixed structure, but we always manage to add our own unique touch.

2. What are the tasks and activities the Intro is responsible for?

The tasks and activities that the Intro is involved in include acting as a bridge between Flow and the outside world. We organize both informal and formal activities to give students a good time and introduce them to Flow and its members.

3. What is it like to be the commissioner of the Introduction Committee and why?

Being a commissioner for the Intro is hectic but exciting! You are constantly in touch with various people and organizations for a variety of tasks, always have a to-do list ready, or are discussing ideas with the committee. It makes every activity and week feel unique.

4. How is this year’s committee different than the one from last year and why?

The Intro of this year is different from the previous year in terms of changes made behind the scenes. This year, we merged with Promo, taking on their responsibilities. Although it might seem like twice the activities, it’s more about cleverly combining tasks. With our current team of four, it requires some creativity, but luckily, we have a great team to work with!

5. What are your goals for the committee?

The primary goal is that the committee enjoys their experience. Additionally, this year is the first opportunity to see how well the Intro can be combined with Promo. There is a lot to gain in that aspect, so experimentation is on the agenda for this year.

6. How did you experience organizing your first activity with the committee at Jump square, and how are you looking forward to the other upcoming activities?

Organizing the first Intro activity at Jumpsquare was an eye-opener. Despite being a relatively easy/straightforward activity, it required a significant amount of coordination and work to make sure everything runs smoothly. However, it was incredibly fun and rewarding, making it worthwhile. I am very pleased that we took on the challenge.

7. If you didn’t have to consider time or money, what would you like to do with your committee?

If not constrained by time or money, two ideas that have come up multiple times are a cooking workshop and a competitive escape room between different teams. We faced challenges in budgeting for both, and while we are not tight on budget at the moment, it would be great to find a creative workaround for these activities.
