- University: Tilburg University
- Language: English
- Lecturer: Dr. Harm Brouwer and Dr. Silvy Collin
- How many tries did it take you to pass the course?: one
- General information: The general objective of the course is to give an extensive introduction to the multidisciplinary field of cognitive neuroscience. It's a combination of theory about different ways to study the brain + the different cognitive functions, and practicals where you get to run and experience your own experiments.
- Study load: I think the general study load was very doable; however, the practicals sometimes took up quite some time, given processing and preparations.
- Positive feedback?: I really liked the practical sessions where you actually got to perform your own experiments with EEGs. This really felt like you were able to apply what you learned in class. I also think all the lectures were really clear and interactive.
- Negative feedback?: Every second week, students had to give a presentation on the lecture topic discussed in the week prior. While I think it was quite useful to prepare and present with my group, listening to the other students present added no value to the course, in my opinion. I would've much rather listened to the professors talk about these topics in which they're experts, than sit through presentations given by my peers, who just learned about the topics.
