Experiences with Internships

Tom Grosfeld at Ofcourz

During my internship, I wrote texts about all kinds of subjects. Informal texts like blogs and e-books, but mostly product descriptions, website texts, landing pages, SEO-texts and brochures. The level was high, since most copywriters had already graduated and were experienced with writing texts for business purposes. You have to adjust to the level and you will receive a lot of feedback. I got a lot of impressions about other parts of the company, because it was a small transparent company. You learn to cope with pressure, reaching targets and process critic…

Rebecca van Geel at Defence

As part of the Royal Air Force Orchestra, I was assigned to design everything for the new concert period. This included designing program booklets (design, images, text and formatting), beach flags, posters, writing brand stories and promoting the concert on Facebook. For this, I was in direct contact with the graphic designer and printer of Defence. I was responsible and trusted by the rest of the staff of the orchestra, which felt very good! I went to four concerts to see how the audience reacted to the designs and with all this feedback I could do some fine tuning…

Marloes Boer at Indicia

In the first month, I was immersed in the world of WordPress. I learned to build websites that meet all the customer requirements. I also learned to use programs such as Google Analytics, AdWords, Tag Manager and many others. The focus has been on improving SEO. It was nice to see the websites I created grow. In addition, my supervisor/the marketing manager was starting a consultancy company and he wanted me as the new marketing manager. So that would be my project for these five months. I prepared and planned meetings, set up the website…

Loes Verberne at RTL The Netherlands

In the second half of my master I did an internship at RTL Netherlands, the largest media company in the country. Most people know RTL from television, but RTL is much more than that. Videoland, Buienradar, Pepper and Couverts are all part of RTL. It is a big company with many employees and different departments. I did an internship at channel communications. Their goal is to promote RTL’s programs. They do this by arranging interviews with papers and magazines, organizing photo shoots and press events…

Camille Geboers at the Dutch Embassy

My main job and something I was doing every day, was social media. Creating and posting messages, monitoring news and social media and so forth. During my internship there were several big events, including the COP21 and the state visit of King Willem Alexander and Queen Máxima, during which I was concerned with the social media (making of a media plan, its execution and the analysis). Besides that, I helped with organizing other events, looked for subsidies and created infographics…
