Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence (CSAI) is a Bachelor’s program, offered as a part of the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences (TSHD). This English-taught program combines the science of human cognition – the study of thinking, language, learning, and mental representations in relation to other psychological processes which involve attention, observation, memory, use of language, and decision making – and the study of computers and software that can perform intelligent behavior.

CSAI is unique in its multidisciplinary approach. Students take introductory courses in their first year and are able to deepen their knowledge in their second year. In the third year, they get specialization courses and do a minor to either gain in-depth knowledge within their program or broaden their perspectives by taking courses of another discipline. These courses can be ones that are offered in Tilburg University, a different university in the Netherlands or even abroad. Each student also writes a Bachelor’s Thesis in his third year.
