Who are you?
I am Tom and I was an active member of Flow for four years. At this moment, I enjoy my old days as a passive member. My love for the association didn’t disappear.

Where did you do an internship?
During my bachelor, I did a three-month internship at Ofcourz in Breda. As a copywriter at a communication and content company. Earlier that year, I went to Ofcourz with Flow’s company visit. It appealed to me and the same day I wrote an e-mail to see if they were looking for interns. I had to write some test texts, an application letter and we had a meeting. The company and I were both positive, so I could start.

Why did you want to do an internship and what did you do?
I wanted an internship, because I didn’t feel like going to class for a while. Studying theories is boring, so I looked for practical experience. I like to write, so I wanted to do something with that. During my internship, I wrote texts about all kinds of subjects. Informal texts like blogs and e-books, but mostly product descriptions, website texts, landing pages, SEO-texts and brochures. The level was high, since most copywriters had already graduated and were experienced with writing texts for business purposes. You have to adjust to the level and you will receive a lot of feedback. I got a lot of impressions about other parts of the company, because it was a small transparent company. You learn to cope with pressure, reaching targets and process critic.

Did you get study delay and/or a compensation?
Because of this internship, I got half a year study delay. My internship was fulltime, so combining it was impossible. I would recommend an internship of 2 or 3 days a week, since it is difficult to go from student to waking up every day at 7:30. You are limited, you cannot go partying and have to give up a lot of social activities. In the end, I don’t regret this, because my internship was only three months. Would this have been half a year, I wouldn’t be happy. I received a minimal compensation of 200 euro a month.
