1. How would you describe your committee in three words and why?

I would describe the committee as fun, hardworking and creative. The committee members are a sociable group of people, and we get to know each other a little better every week. It is hard to come up with ideas because the STC has changed: we are quick to be in another committee’s territory. It takes quite some creativity to come up with an idea for an activity, but fortunately the committee thinks along, and they come up with many great ideas.

2. The concept of the STC has changed because of the current situation. What do you do now?

At the beginning it was a bit tricky to shape the STC, because a study trip was not possible, and in terms of activities it’s a combination of different committees. In consultation with the Daily Board, we have decided that the STC will focus mainly on cultural activities. For example, the Cultural Cooking Competition and the upcoming Street Art Route. We are now busy thinking of new activities and already have some great ideas.

3. What do you think about the new concept?

I am very happy with this set-up, because we can still set up fun activities that hopefully can evoke the feeling of a study trip. Of course, I would have preferred an entire trip, especially since it could not take place last year, but given the circumstances I think this is a very nice interpretation of the STC.

4. If it were up to you, where would we have gone if the study trip had gotten a green light?

I would like to go to Scotland then, to visit the destination we had thought of last year. It’s a very beautiful country, lots of green and it has lots of interesting places to visit. Furthermore, the culture is based on mythology to some extent, which I find very interesting.

5. How is this STC different from last year’s committee?

This SRC is different from last year’s in several ways. We have all our meetings online, whereas last year we had them all offline. Furthermore, we also have a different distribution in terms of studies, as we now have a majority of CSAI students instead of CIW students. But there are still some similarities, such as that the majority has never been on a study trip, we think up the outfits for a drink together and the mood in the committee is great!

6. What are your goals, committee-wise?

My goals for the committee are to organize some more fun activities together and if possible, to see each other physically. Together with my committee, I would like to make sure that although there is no study trip this year, we can still offer the members of Flow fun cultural activities.

7. If time and resources were not an issue, what would you want to organize?

If I didn’t have limited resources, including money and time, it would seem very cool to me to organize a tour. For example, going down the coast of France and Spain by boat, or a tour of Scandinavia. Putting some tents in the trunk and camping with a group sounds very cool.

1. How would you describe your committee in three words and why?

I would describe my committee as creative, enthusiastic, and sociable. Creativity is of course a very important quality in the Web Committee, and everyone is certainly creative in the Web Committee. It’s nice that everyone has their own ideas and shares them with the rest of the committee. The enthusiasm and sociability come forward in our meetings and other Flow activities. We also all like a good drink.

2. What are examples of Web-activities?

Of course, we as the Web Committee don’t necessarily organize activities, but are mainly the creative brain behind the social media and promotions. For example, have you seen our fun ‘become active’ video on Instagram recently?

3. What is it like being commissioner of the Web Committee?

Very fun! In the beginning it was quite difficult to start up the committee, because I have a committee with quite a lot of new members. But as everyone got to know each other better and better, it went more and more smoothly. It’s nice that everyone thinks along and comes up with new ideas.

4. What new things have you introduced this year?

This year we started doing more promotion on our Instagram. We noticed that the newer generation of Flow members uses Instagram more than Facebook. Hence, we now promote upcoming activities in our Instagram stories as well. In addition, we had intended to make more videos this year. Unfortunately, the corona crisis is still hindering this as we are still not allowed to get together.

5. How is this Web Committee different from last year’s committee?

This year, half of the committee is made up of new members, and this brings a lot of new creative ideas. Of course, this year is also different because of the corona crisis and unfortunately, we have never been together with the whole committee, but because everything is online this year it also brings fun challenges. In addition, the Web Committee is very high in the Flowmission points this year, so I am a proud commissioner!

6. What are your goals, committee-wise?

I hope to have many happy and funny moments with the committee in addition to serious formal things. In addition, I want to continue to involve my committee members in Flow and the activities, even though everyone is sitting at home.

7. If time and resources were not an issue, what would you want to organize?

Of course, the Web Committee doesn’t necessarily organize activities, so really organizing anything seems very difficult. Maybe we could hire someone to record all the activities for us then? From a non-web committee perspective, I would organize a Flow Festival with cool artists and unlimited food and drinks.
